WSH Coordinator

We are a sub-contractor in the construction industry specialising in reinforced concrete structure works. Safety is our top priority, and we are looking for a committed and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to support our projects and ensure compliance with all workplace safety and health (WSH) regulations.

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting the implementation and monitoring of the company's safety policies and procedures on construction sites. This role focuses on promoting a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and preventing workplace accidents.

Key Responsibilities:

1.1. Safety Implementation and Monitoring

. Assist in implementing the company's Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies

. Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards

. Monitor compliance with safety regulations, PPE usage, and safe work practices

. Report and follow up on unsafe conditions or practices

1.2. Training and Awareness

. Organize and conduct safety inductions and toolbox meetings for workers and subcontractors

. Promote safety awareness campaigns and initiatives on-site

. Assist in training workers on emergency procedures and the proper use of safety equipment

1.3. Incident Reporting and Investigation

. Assist in investigating accidents, incidents, or near-misses and prepare reports

. Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and corrective actions

. Recommend preventive measures based on investigation findings

1.4. Documentation and Compliance

. Ensure safety documentation and permits are properly maintained and up-to-date

. Support preparation for MOM audits and other regulatory inspections

. Maintain records of safety meetings, training attendance, and certifications

1.5. Coordination and Communication

. Liaise with site supervisors, workers, management, main contractor and external agencies on safety matters

. Assist in enforcing safety rules and disciplinary actions when necessary

. Participate in safety committee meetings and contribute to continuous improvement

Minimum Requirements:

. WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health Course

. Previous experience in safety coordination or a related role in construction (minimum 5 years preferred)

. Good knowledge of Singapore's WSH Act and MOM regulations

. Strong communication and interpersonal skills

. Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to safety management

. Holds a valid MOM approved Building Construction Supervisors Safety Course (BCSS) certificate

. Holds a valid MOM approved Work At Height Supervisor Course/ Manage Work At Height (MWAH) certificate
