1. Primary Responsibilities:
a) Lead day-to-day operations in the workshop, including cutting, welding, griding, drilling and repairs.
b) Interpret engineering drawings and translate them into clear work instructions for the team.
c) Allocate manpower and monitor job progress to meet schedule and quality expectations.
d) Ensure fabrication work aligns with structural integrity, tolerances and requirements.
e) Inspect completed jobs for workmanship, dimensional accuracy and welding quality.
f) Support root cause analysis of failed or defective components and propose design/fabrication improvements.
g) Ensure availability of materials, tools and consumables required for jobs.
h) Monitor usage of welding rods, gas cylinders, grinding discs and consumables to control costs.
i) Supervisor technicians and provide on job coaching, identify training needs and skills gaps propose development plans for the team.
j) Ensure compliance with workshop safety rules, PPE usage, permit protocols and housekeeping of area.
2. Requirements:
a) Diploma in Mechanical engineering, welding, or fabrication technology.
b) 5+ years of experience in industrial metal work, including supervisory experience.
c) Able to read and interpret technical drawings, fabrication standards, and welding procedures.
d) Familiar with common tools: MIG/TIG/Stick welding, grinder, gas cutter, plasma cutter, slip roller & etc.
e) Good communication, planning and leadership skills
f) Safety knowledge of hot work and workshop safety regulations
3. Remuneration:
a) Basic salary: $3,000 - $3,500
b) Monday to Friday (8am - 5pm)
c) Company Transport / Transport Allowance ($120) if candidate possess own transport
