The Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO)
is responsible for ensuring compliance with our Project's Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and internal safety policies on main construction projects. The role safeguards the well-being of all site personnel, promotes a strong safety culture, and ensures that hazards are effectively identified, managed, and mitigated.
2. Key Responsibilities and Activities:
. Implement and enforce workplace safety and health policies, procedures, and statutory requirements in accordance with the WSH Act.
. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, unsafe practices, and non-compliance issues.
. Develop and implement risk assessments, Safe Work Procedures (SWPs), and safety improvement plans.
. Lead incident investigations, prepare reports, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
. Organize and conduct safety briefings, toolbox meetings, and training sessions for workers and subcontractors.
. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure safe work planning and execution.
. Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, permits-to-work, training attendance, and incident reports.
. Liaise with relevant authorities (e.g., MOM, SCDF, BCA) during audits and inspections.

5. Technical Competencies:
.In-depth knowledge of WSH Act, regulations, and Codes of Practice.
.Skilled in conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
.Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management systems.
.Familiarity with main construction operations, heavy equipment, and high-risk work activities.
6. Skills & Knowledge:
. Knowledge of emergency response procedures and first aid.
. Ability to train and mentor workers in safety practices.
7. Formal Education:
Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), Singapore.
8. Major Study/Specialist (Education):
.Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
.Completion of relevant WSH-related courses (e.g., Safety Coordinator Course, Risk Management Course, Fire Safety Manager Course) is an advantage.
9. Experience Required:
.Minimum 3-5 years of WSHO experience in main construction projects.
.Proven track record in managing safety on large-scale building or infrastructure projects.
.Experience in liaising with government agencies and conducting site audits.
