Job Summary
You will ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations on construction sites, lead continuous improvement of EHS systems and provide technical guidance to enhance workplace safety and risk management.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with government health, safety and environmental regulations by enforcing all safety requirements and in-house safety rules on construction sites
- Implement continuous improvements to the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) system through effective application of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 management standards
- Monitor construction sites regularly and conduct safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure safe work practices
- Identify and recommend best practices and initiatives to reduce work process risks, increase safety awareness and improve safe work procedures
- Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance and mentoring to the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) team to support safety initiatives and implement necessary changes
Required competencies and certifications
- Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) and Environmental Control Officer (ECO) with a minimum of 3 years experience in a construction firm
- Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental legislation and risk management procedures
- Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ConSASS, and GGBS standards
