Job Description

1.Compliance &Regulatory Oversight

  • Ensure compliance with Fire Safety & Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act and relevant regulations.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities (e.g., SCDF, MOM in Singapore) on safety and fire safety matters.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure legal compliance.
  • Maintain safety documentation, records, and reporting requirements.

2. Risk Management

  • Identify workplace hazards and conduct risk assessments.
  • Implement control measures to eliminate or reduce risks.
  • Review risk assessments periodically and after incidents or changes in operations.
  • Ensure safe work procedures (SWPs) are developed and followed.

3. Incident Management

  • Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses.
  • Analyse root causes and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
  • Prepare incident reports and ensure timely submission to authorities.
  • Monitor implementation of corrective measures.

4. Safety Programs & Training

  • Develop and implement safety training programs and toolbox meetings.
  • Conduct safety briefings, inductions, and awareness campaigns.
  • Promote a strong safety culture among employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Ensure all personnel are trained and competent for their roles.

5. Workplace Inspections & Monitoring

  • Conduct routine site inspections to identify unsafe practices or conditions.
  • Monitor contractor safety performance.
  • Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Oversee maintenance of safety equipment and emergency systems.

6. Emergency Preparedness

  • Develop and implement emergency response plans (ERP).
  • Conduct and coordinate drills (fire, evacuation, spill response, etc.).
  • Ensure availability and accessibility of emergency equipment.

7. Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Prepare safety reports, KPIs, and statistics.
  • Recommend improvements to policies and procedures.
  • Support management in achieving safety performance targets.
  • Lead safety committees or participate as a key member.

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

. Registered Workplace Safety and HealthOfficer (WSHO)

. Registered Fire Safety Manager (FSM)

. Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience(industry-dependent).

. Certification in Safety courses (e.g., WSHOfficer Course, NEBOSH, or equivalent).
