Job Summary

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will lead the planning and implementation of accident prevention and safe work methods, ensuring compliance with legal safety and health requirements to protect workers and support operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Advise management on accident prevention strategies and legal safety and health requirements to mitigate workplace risks
  • Develop and implement workplace safety documentation including safety checklists, Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Safe Work Procedures to enhance site safety standards
  • Deploy and manage Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) programmes to ensure consistent safety compliance across all operations
  • Monitor site operations, workers, and subcontractors to enforce adherence to safety processes and regulations
  • Communicate effectively with all organizational levels and actively participate in daily site meetings to address safety concerns and updates
  • Identify unsafe acts or conditions promptly and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to eliminate hazards
  • Conduct safety committee meetings and perform safety audits to generate management reports that inform continuous safety improvements
  • Maintain Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) controls and processes aligned with company policies and government regulations
  • Lead daily toolbox meetings at worksites to reinforce safety awareness and procedures among site teams
  • Deliver safety training and briefings, including familiarization with Risk Management's standardized procedures, to site personnel
  • Establish and maintain quality safety management policies and procedures that support a culture of safety excellence
  • Ensure consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on site to protect workers from hazards
  • Oversee effective site administration including site safety management and control of materials to maintain organized and safe work environments
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Manager or superior to support project and safety objectives

Required competencies and certifications

  • Valid registration with MOM (Ministry of Manpower)
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act and related regulations

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Diploma in engineering (electrical or mechanical)
  • Familiarity with ISO documentation standards
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the construction industry
  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines and adapt to shift work if required
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills to manage safety initiatives effectively
  • Proficient communication skills and computer literacy to support reporting and coordination
  • Collaborative team player with a hands-on approach and strong attention to detail.
