Job Summary
Support the Safety Manager to ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and welfare standards on construction projects, conducting inspections, investigations, and risk assessments to maintain a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Safety Manager in managing safety, health, environmental, and welfare compliance to meet statutory and aerodrome safety standards
- Execute health, safety, and environmental controls to ensure all work follows established procedures and instructions
- Coordinate with stakeholders, authorities, agencies, and consultants to support safety management efforts
- Prepare and submit daily situation reports to track project safety status
- Conduct daily site inspections for health, safety, and environmental compliance, document findings, and coordinate corrective actions with Project Safety Team and contractors
- Investigate accidents and near-miss incidents, document findings accurately on relevant forms
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment and consistently follow all safety procedures
- Implement and monitor safety measures aligned with the Workplace Health and Safety Act and Safety Management System requirements
- Identify and report training or certification needs to comply with legislation, Approved Codes of Practice, or H.S.E. guidance
Required competencies and certifications
- Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer with MOM (mandatory)
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the construction industry, preferably 2 years with a developer or main contractor
- Experience developing a Risk Management Implementation Plan (bizSAFE Level 2) or equivalent
