About the Role
We are looking for a competent and proactive Safety Manager to lead and manage workplace safety and health matters. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with WSH regulations, promoting a strong safety culture, and driving continuous improvement in safety performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the company's Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) Management System in compliance with the WSH Act, MOM, BCA, LTA and NEA requirements.
- Develop, review and implement Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), Method Statements (MOS)
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses prepare reports with root-cause analysis and preventive measures
- Liaise with authorities during inspections and audits
- Conduct safety induction, toolbox meetings and training for employees and subcontractors
- Manage Permit-to-Work systems and ensure compliance for high-risk activities
- Monitor subcontractor safety performance and enforce PPE compliance
- Prepare monthly safety statistics, reports and management presentations
- Lead emergency preparedness planning and drills
- Promote a positive safety culture and behavioural safety programs
Requirements
Education & Certification
- Diploma / Degree in Workplace Safety & Health, Environmental Engineering or related field.
- Registered WSH Officer & ECO.
- bizSAFE Level 2/3/4, ISO 45001 Internal Auditor or Fire Safety Manager will be an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in construction or road works
- At least 3 years in managerial/ supervisory role
- Hands-on experience with MOM/BCA/LTA audits and inspections
- Proven track record in managing multiple project sites and improving safety performance
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Singapore WSH regulations and industry practices
- Excellent risk assessment and incident investigation skills
- Good leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage stakeholders
- Proficient in MS Office and safety reporting systems
