Key Responsibilities for Wireless IP Network Engineer
1. Incident & Problem Management: Manage and resolve high-priority network incidents escalated from L1/L2, including root cause analysis (RCA) and security incident response to minimize business impact.
2. Infrastructure Troubleshooting: Collaborate with internal infra tower teams to troubleshoot complex wireless/IP network issues and identify root causes.
3. Vendor Support Coordination: Partner with network vendors (specifically Huawei) for troubleshooting, bug identification, and technical resolution.
4. Emergency Response: Handle critical network incidents under pressure, restoring services promptly to minimize downtime.
5. Technical Communication: Lead or participate in conference calls with technical teams to drive problem identification and resolution.
6. Process & Change Management: Adhere strictly to Customer policies and align with Huawei's change management processes.
7. Network Operations & Configuration: Perform day-to-day configuration, optimization, and maintenance on Huawei wireless/IP network devices.
8. Proactive Monitoring & Reporting: Perform network insights, conduct preventive maintenance, monitor key tasks, and provide detailed reports on maintenance checks and issues.
9. Customer Relationship Management: Act as the technical point of contact, advising the customer on technical issues, potential risks, and optimization opportunities.
10. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with technical teams and teammates to resolve complex technical challenges independently.
SKILLSET
This role requires a Diploma/Bachelor's in Engineering or Computer Science, with deep knowledge of routing, switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, HSRP) and hands-on, complex troubleshooting skills. Candidates should ideally understand modern technologies (VXLAN, Cisco ACI, SDWAN) and wireless systems, showing a willingness to learn.
1. Requirements:
- Networking Fundamentals:
In-depth understanding of Routing, Switching, WLAN/LAN/WAN, Spanning Tree Protocol, HSRP, ARP, VLANs, Inter-VLAN Routing, OSPF, and BGP.
- Troubleshooting & Analysis:
Advanced hands-on experience on routers/switches, isolating root causes of complex problems, and resolving network incidents.
- Advanced Technologies:
Knowledge of VXLAN, Cisco ACI, VXLAN BGP eVPN, SDA, and SDWAN.
- Wireless Technology:
Understanding of wireless network technology, including WLC and APs.
2. Education:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
3. Preferred Qualifications:
- Proactive attitude toward learning new technologies.
- Logical thinking and strong troubleshooting skills.
