Server Deployment and Configuration:
- Design, deploy, and configure Windows Server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server 2016/2019/2022) across physical and virtual environments.
- Implement and manage server roles and features such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file services, and Group Policy.
- Develop server deployment scripts and automation tools to streamline provisioning processes.
Patch Management and Updates:
- Develop and maintain patch management strategies using tools like Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), or similar solutions.
- Plan and execute scheduled patching activities while ensuring minimal impact on production systems.
- Perform regular vulnerability assessments and apply security patches in accordance with organizational policies.
Monitoring and Performance Optimization:
- Monitor server performance metrics using monitoring tools (e.g., Microsoft System Center Operations Manager, Nagios, etc.) to identify and address performance issues.
- Implement performance tuning techniques and optimizations to enhance server responsiveness and resource utilization.
- Conduct capacity planning exercises to forecast server resource requirements based on business growth and demand.
Backup and Recovery Planning:
- Design, implement, and manage server backup solutions to ensure data protection and disaster recovery readiness.
- Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures, conduct regular tests, and update recovery plans as needed.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to define recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO) for critical systems.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of server configurations, deployment processes, and troubleshooting guidelines.
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to junior team members and support staff.
- Contribute to knowledge base articles, best practices, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the team.
