About the Role
GD Time is a growing watch retail business dealing in quality timepieces. We're looking for a skilled and meticulous Watchmaker to service, repair, and restore mechanical and quartz watches to the highest standard. You'll work hands-on at the bench with premium brands including Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Panerai, and Tudor, playing a key role in maintaining the quality and reputation of the watches we sell and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Servicing & repair - disassemble, clean, lubricate, and reassemble mechanical and quartz movements
- Diagnostics - inspect and accurately diagnose faults in movements, cases, and complications
- Restoration - carry out case and bracelet refinishing, gasket replacement, and component sourcing/replacement
- Quality control - inspect incoming watches, verify authenticity of parts, and test timing accuracy, water resistance, and power reserve
- Battery & strap work - handle battery replacements, strap/bracelet fitting, and minor adjustments
- Documentation - record service history, parts used, and condition reports for each timepiece
- Support retail - advise the team on repair timelines, feasibility, and cost estimates
Requirements
- Formal watchmaking qualification (e.g. WOSTEP, SAWTA, or equivalent) or proven hands-on watchmaking experience
- Experience servicing premium brands - Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Panerai, Tudor - strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of mechanical and quartz movements
- Precision, patience, and excellent hand-eye coordination
- Comfortable handling high-value timepieces with care and discretion
- Familiarity with watchmaking tools and equipment (timegrapher, pressure tester, etc.)
- Interest in horology and a commitment to craftsmanship
