Key Responsibilities:
1. Cargo Handling & Processing
- Receive, check, and verify export cargo against the delivery order or shipping documents.
- Ensure cargo condition and labeling meet export standards (e.g., correct destination, flight, and airway bill).
- Sort, tag, and palletize cargo according to airline or forwarder requirements.
- Handle special cargo (e.g., DG, perishable, valuable, or oversized) as per handling instructions.
- Ensure cargo is stored in the correct staging area awaiting customs clearance or flight build-up.
2. Documentation & System Updates
- Record all incoming and outgoing cargo in the warehouse management system (WMS) or manual logbook.
- Ensure all export documentation (DO, manifest, airway bill, booking sheet) is complete and matches physical cargo.
- Prepare and submit tally sheets, cargo checklists, and handover forms for customs and airline purposes.
- Update cargo movement status in system promptly (e.g., received, checked, handed over).
3. Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with Export Customer Service and Operations teams on cargo readiness and loading schedules.
- Liaise with drivers, forwarders, and airline representatives for cargo handover or collection.
- Report discrepancies, damages, or missing cargo to the Supervisor immediately.
- Support Customs Officers or security inspectors during cargo inspection and scanning.
4. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs, airline requirements, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., AVSEC, Customs).
- Follow proper handling procedures for restricted and controlled items.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment at all times.
- Wear proper PPE and follow safety rules during cargo handling.
5. General Warehouse Duties
- Assist in inventory control and regular stock checks.
- Ensure proper housekeeping of export staging areas.
- Support in other warehouse sections when required (e.g., import, acceptance, documents counter).
- Participate in ad-hoc assignments as instructed by the Supervisor or Manager.
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience in warehouse or operations support.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with warehouse systems (WMS/TMS) will be an advantage.
