Job Summary
We are looking for a hands-on Warehouse Assistant Manager to support the Warehouse Manager in overseeing daily warehouse operations at our Benoi/Penjuru facility. The role is responsible for operational performance, inventory accuracy, manpower planning, workplace safety and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will also support new warehouse projects, including process design, operational setup, implementation and handover to the operations team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Warehouse Manager in overseeing daily inbound, outbound, storage, picking, packing, returns and inventory control activities.
- Plan and allocate manpower, equipment and other operational resources according to daily workload.
- Monitor productivity, inventory accuracy, service quality, turnaround time and operational costs.
- Supervise, coach and develop warehouse supervisors and frontline employees.
- Conduct daily briefings and ensure that employees follow operational procedures and workplace safety requirements.
- Investigate operational issues, inventory discrepancies and service failures, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Develop, review and maintain warehouse SOPs, work instructions and operational records.
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse layout, workflow, productivity and resource utilisation.
- Support the implementation and improvement of warehouse management systems and operational tools.
- Assist in warehouse solution design, operational planning and cost estimation for new projects.
- Coordinate project implementation, operational readiness, testing and handover to the warehouse operations team.
- Work closely with customers, transport teams, vendors and internal departments to meet operational requirements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements and applicable workplace safety regulations.
- Perform other operational duties assigned by the Warehouse Manager.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management or a related discipline.
- At least five years of relevant experience in warehouse or logistics operations.
- At least three years of experience in a warehouse supervisory, team leadership, process improvement or solutions role.
- Good understanding of inbound, outbound, storage, picking, packing, returns and inventory management processes.
- Experience in warehouse setup, process implementation, continuous improvement or customer onboarding projects would be an advantage.
- Experience supervising a diverse team in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong planning, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills.
- Able to analyse operational data and translate findings into practical improvement actions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office experience using warehouse management systems is preferred.
- Proficiency in English is required for operational communication, documentation, safety briefings and stakeholder coordination.
- Willing to work at the Benoi/Penjuru facility and support operational requirements outside standard office hours when necessary.
- Ability to communicate in Mandarin would be an advantage, as the role may occasionally liaise with Mandarin-speaking customers.
