Job Summary
Manage and coordinate warehouse operations and logistics activities to ensure efficient inventory control, compliance, and timely shipment processing within a global industrial safety technology company.
Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
- Manage daily warehouse activities independently to ensure smooth operations.
- Implement proper storage, handling, and housekeeping of materials to maintain safety and order.
- Maintain accurate stock records using ERP/WMS systems for reliable inventory tracking.
- Update supplier and store delivery orders (DOs) in the system before month-end closing.
- Prepare monthly warehouse reports including space utilization, inventory aging, KPIs, and manpower status.
- Enforce workplace safety and compliance with warehouse standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Logistics Coordination
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with third-party logistics (3PL) providers and freight forwarders.
- Communicate daily with customers and vendors to provide shipment status updates.
- Arrange and manage shipping bookings with carriers/forwarders, including bill of lading (BL) instructions, cut-off times, ETD/ETA updates, and booking confirmations.
- Prepare import/export documentation and provide daily customer support to ensure smooth logistics flow.
- Verify completeness and compliance of commercial and shipping documents with shipping regulations.
- Coordinate warehousing, freight forwarding, and distribution operations efficiently.
Documentation & Data Management
- Create and enter data accurately in ERP/WMS systems to support operational processes.
- Maintain reliable documentation for stock movements, deliveries, and inventory tracking.
- Submit required operational reports promptly to support management decisions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Compliance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure customs clearance and on-time deliveries.
- Manage HS code classification and conduct product checks for regulatory and trade compliance.
- Assist in maintaining customs records and support responses to routine customs inquiries.
- Ensure all documents meet regulatory and customs requirements for import/export shipments.
- Source freight rates from shipping lines and carriers as needed.
- Perform additional duties assigned by management to support business needs.
Required competencies and certifications
- Certificate or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in third-party logistics (3PL), freight forwarding, or logistics industry.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ocean freight shipment documentation and processes (MSDS, DGD, B/L) and relevant legislation (DOT CFR 49, IMDG, FMC, INCOTERMS).
- Proficiency in SAP order processing and Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid qualified driving license.
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Forklift license (advantageous but not essential).
- Immediate availability or ability to start with short notice (advantageous but not essential).
