Job Purpose
This role sits within the SG Consumer Banking Group Credit team and reports to the Head of Secured Policy & Portfolio Management.The Team Lead is accountable for setting, governing, and evolving secured lending credit policies, while providing endtoend oversight of portfolio performance, risk profile, and sustainability across secured consumer products. The role plays a critical part in ensuring prudent risk management, regulatory soundness, and sustainable franchise growth, in line with the Group's risk appetite and strategic priorities
Job Responsibility
- Lead the development, maintenance, and governance of secured credit policies
- Review and challenge underwriting guidelines, including straight-through-processing (STP) effectiveness, collateral valuation practices and risk mitigants to enhance portfolio resilience
- Provide credit risk perspectives on new product launches, policy changes and target segment expansion
- Lead and develop a high performing team of risk analysts responsible for SG secured lending credit policies, portfolio risk analytics and risk oversight
- Lead, coach, and develop a high performing team responsible for secured policy, portfolio analytics, and risk oversight
- Act as a senior risk thought partner, contributing to discussions on portfolio strategy, risk culture, and capability building
Requirements
- A recognised Degree in Banking and Finance, Economics, Business Administration or equivalent
- The candidate should have at least 10 years of experience in consumer credit risk, with strong exposure to secured lending and portfolio management
- Proven experience in a leadership role, including managing a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Strong understanding of credit risk, collateral management, portfolio analytics, and risk controls
- Familiarity with credit scoring models and data driven risk management
- Experience engaging stakeholders and exercising sound risk judgment in balancing business and risk objectives
- Strong understanding of consumer lending regulations and compliance requirements
- Knowledge of industry best practices, trends, and emerging technologies in consumer banking
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with attention to detail
- Clear communicator who can articulate risk perspectives and influence outcomes
- Collaborative mindset, with the ability to engage constructively and find balanced solutions
