We are seeking an experienced and driven professional to join our Prime Brokerage team as VP or SVP, Sales. This role is critical to the continued growth and success of our Prime Brokerage business. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and developing new revenue streams, expanding our client base, and strengthening relationships with existing clients.
The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of the prime brokerage ecosystem, including the evolving needs of institutional platforms, brokers, intermediaries, and small-to-mid-sized asset managers. This individual will play a key role in aligning Maybank's product offerings with client requirements, creating mutual value, and enhancing the Bank's positioning in the regional market.
The responsibility of this role includes:
- Generate new business by proactively prospecting and onboarding institutional investors, intermediaries, accredited investors (AIs), and funds. This includes identifying prospects, developing relationships, and converting them into active clients.
- Cultivate and strengthen long-term relationships with existing clients through consistent, high-quality service and proactive engagement to ensure retention and satisfaction.
- Act as a strategic advisor to clients by understanding their needs and proposing relevant solutions within the Bank's Prime Brokerage offering.
- Cover local and regional markets, targeting institutional platforms, brokers, intermediaries, and other institutional clients.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with external service providers within the securities and asset management industries to enhance the Prime Brokerage business's growth and competitiveness.
- Identify and execute cross-product sales opportunities in collaboration with other business units within the Bank.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the Product Team, to enhance the Prime Brokerage product suite and platform capabilities.
Qualifications requirements:
- Bachelor degree with at least 12-14 years in the financial services industry; preferably with experience in the Prime Services or Institutional Sales sector.
- Depth of product knowledge & operational processes & understanding of the needs and pains of platform providers, intermediaries and asset management firms.
- Ability to create win-win solutions with other service providers across the industry.
- Ability to work within a diverse team of individuals.
- Exhibit flexibility & adaptability skills required in the Prime services industry.
- Proven sales success and client relationship management experience across Singapore and multiple regional markets is desirable.
- Having an existing base of clients and contacts, especially from the institutional platform and intermediary space that can be migrated onto the platform will be a significant plus point.
