DBS Institutional Banking Group (IBG) provides corporate customers with a full range of commercial banking products and services, including cash management, current accounts, time deposits, trade finance, working capital finance, term loans, foreign exchange, and investment banking. Through our continued commitment, DBS has cultivated long-standing relationships with its customers in the region that are based on account relationship management, service differentiation, product development and rigorous credit standards.
The FDI desk collaborates widely across the bank, both regionally within IBG but also with Private Banking (PB) and Consumer Banking (CB), in respect of account acquisitions leveraging One-Bank solutions. The team also supports business development and origination of account acquisition opportunities and manages customer relationships directly where needed.
Responsibilities
- Originate and drive business development related to FDIs to achieve new-to-bank and new-to-geography targets.
- Work closely with regional coverage teams in IBG and PB/CBG to identify and acquire new-to-bank corporate customers to expand Bank's market share of the FDI flows in our target markets.
- Formulate, complete, and execute account plans for clients onboarded by FDI Desk to increase share of wallet, by generating solutions in collaboration with product groups including capital markets (Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets and M&A), transaction banking services (Cash and Trade) and treasury.
- Where needed, handle customer relationship and banking needs directly in a timely manner and with due attention to business risks.
Requirements
- Degree holder in Finance, Economics or related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in either institutional or private banking.
- Prior experience in exposure and coverage in the specific markets will be advantageous.
- Strong credit and financial analytical skills with the ability to independently prepare credit applications for approvals.
- Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Results-oriented and strong business connections in identifying and developing business opportunities. Track record and experience in this aspect will be an advantage.
