Job Description

We are seeking aspiring candidates to join us as VP, Relationship Management & Business Development within our Global Payments & Trade team.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Working with the Team Lead for India, you will be responsible for relationship coverage and business development by marketing products of Global Payments & Trade (transaction banking services) to key Financial Institutions, including Banks and Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFIs) in South Asia
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for acquiring, managing and growing the portfolio of key client relationships (covering both existing and new, target clients).
  • Manage large and sophisticated clients with complex buying /decision-making processes.
  • Continually evaluate client needs and ensure sustained client engagement to grow revenue while strengthening business relationships.
  • Track and report pipeline and progress against account plans developed for key accounts.
  • Adopt enterprise-wide relationship management approach by collaborating with internal stakeholders and across lines of businesses to deliver a holistic customer experience.
  • Ensure relationship management strategy is executed through pro-active account management and deployment of client service and implementation teams.
  • Keep abreast of client account activity occurring throughout the firm and serve as the ultimate escalation point for client satisfaction.
  • Focus on the maintenance and implementation of bank's policies and procedures, sales initiatives and strategies.
  • Development as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in specialized function or business / product is essential.

To be successful in this role, we are seeking the following:

  • Strong core competency, experience and knowledge in Transaction Banking products and services, especially correspondent banking/clearing services, FX payments, Trade Finance, Cash Management and Liquidity management solutions.
  • Proven relationship management experience and a well-established network of Financial Institutions and NBFIs or has worked in a similar role within the Financial Services/ Banking Industry.
  • To contribute to the bank's APAC strategy and business development by bringing local market intelligence, knowledge, insights and experience.
  • Experienced in negotiating agreements for inter-bank transactions, for example, nostro account agreement, Master Risk Participation Agreement, Trade Loan Agreement etc.
  • Good working knowledge of using data analysis tools such as Swift.com Banking Analytics, Swift Traffic etc.
  • Strong experience in KYC/AML risk and control process for Banks.
  • Past experience covering the South Asia region (e.g. India, Bangladesh) and fluency in local language will be an advantage.
  • Must be willing to travel for Business.
