Job Responsibilities:
Oversee the Singapore Branch's (the Branch) relevant regulatory risk management framework for compliance with applicable laws and regulations, which includes policies and procedures in relation to privacy of customer information, related parties, insider dealing, individual accountability and conduct requirements, Singapore banking related laws and regulations, and Securities and Futures regulations.
- Review and update the compliance policy and procedure manuals.
- Provide sound and timely independent advice to the Branch's stakeholders in Singapore banking related laws and regulations as well as industry best practices.
- Conduct independent Compliance risk assessments.
- Perform periodic internal Compliance reviews or audits for assurance that Branch operates in compliance with Singapore laws and regulations, proactively address compliance shortcomings and violations, escalate anomalies to HOD or Branch senior management.
- Discharge the functions & responsibilities of Branch's Compliance function, prepare Compliance management reporting, and as secretariat to Branch's regulatory compliance committee.
- Provide Compliance-related training, disseminate regulatory updates to promote education and awareness of compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Support in New Products Review process as may be organized by the respective stakeholders, advise on related banking laws and regulations, seek clarification or obtain regulator's approval where necessary.
- Review information for submission to the regulator (such as surveys, information requests)
- Undertake any other work duties assigned by HOD or directed by Branch senior management/chief risk officer.
Job Requirements:
- Proficient and good working knowledge of banking regulations, notices andguidelines.
- Ability to articulate, communicate compliance advice and requirements to stakeholders effectively.
- Ability to lead in the general compliance arena as well as able to work as a team member.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.
