A leading private bank in Singapore is seeking a Vice President, KYC Assurance (PWM) to strengthen its second-line assurance function. This role sits within the Compliance Testing / Monitoring team and plays a critical part in assessing the effectiveness of the bank's KYC framework across private banking and wealth management activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute risk-based AML compliance testing reviews across private banking businesses, including KYC/CDD, transaction monitoring, sanctions, and adverse media screening.
- Assess the design and operating effectiveness of AML policies, procedures, and controls in line with MAS regulations, internal standards, and global best practices.
- Identify control gaps, root causes, and emerging AML risks; document clear, well-supported findings and recommendations.
- Prepare high-quality testing reports for senior management and governance committees.
- Track and challenge remediation actions to ensure timely and sustainable closure of issues.
- Partner with Compliance Advisory, Financial Crime, Internal Audit, and business stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the enhancement of testing methodologies, tools, and coverage as regulatory expectations evolve.
- Support ad-hoc regulatory or internal reviews as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 812 years of experience in AML compliance, compliance testing/monitoring, internal audit, or regulatory roles within private banking or wealth management.
- Strong working knowledge of MAS requirements, including Notices 626/1014 (or equivalent private banking regulations).
- Proven experience executing independent KYC testing or assurance reviews.
- Solid understanding of private banking products, client risk profiles, and onboarding processes.
- Excellent analytical, writing, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to operate independently, exercise sound judgment, and challenge constructively.
- Bachelor's degree required; ACAMS or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
