Job Description

Responsible for the leadership and management of Server Administration engineering and operations for Mizuho Bank, Singapore Branch (MHBKSG). Partners with intragroup and 3rd-party providers to deliver resilient Server and platform services to MHBKSG and other business and functional units that MHBKSG supports. All responsibilities shall be carried out in accordance with MHBKSG Code of Conduct, Values and Guiding Principles.

Managerial Excellence (30%)

  • Manage and inspire a talented team to achieve excellence in server, data center, and virtualization management.
  • Ensure that employees understand the goals, embrace the values, and support and reinforce the expected behaviors that contribute to the success of the bank.
  • Enable team members to provide sustainable infrastructure aligned with strategic goals.
  • Establish succession plans for key positions.
  • Promote a mindset for agility, sustained success, growth, and diversity

Project Planning & Execution (30%)


  • Establish specific project goals, deliverables, and boundaries to ensure all stakeholders have a shared understanding of what will be achieved.
  • Create a realistic schedule with milestones, allocate necessary resources, and assign responsibilities to team members for efficient execution.
  • Deliver infrastructure services sustainably, complying with enterprise IT controls and applicable regulations, specifically Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).

Strategic Planning (20%)


  • Drive the implementation of hybrid and multi-cloud strategies, balancing innovation with cost-effectiveness and compliance.
  • Establish robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans to safeguard critical systems and data.
  • Lead the integration of advanced monitoring, analytics, and automation tools to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Promote continuous technology skill development and knowledge sharing within the team to stay ahead of industry advancements.
  • Drive the implementation of energy-efficient and sustainable data center practices to reduce operational costs and support environmental goals.

Relationships & Communication(20%)


  • Provide timely management reporting and updates on all material issues.
  • Communicate technical strategies and project updates clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, fostering transparency and alignment across the organization.
  • Develop and deliver clear documentation, guidelines, and training materials to support consistent infrastructure practices across the organization.

Requirements


  • At least 10 years of infrastructure leadership experience.
  • Experience ensuring server operations and outsourcing comply with MAS technology risk guidelines.
  • Lead teams to deliver medium/large-scale IT services in an environment with constant competing priorities.
  • Technical skills in Windows, VMware, Linux, AD, Data Center, Azure
  • Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
  • Collaborate across organization and with external providers to solve complex problems creatively.
  • Excellent oral and written skills in English.
