About The Role
The public cloud department of the GIC team owns, develops, and supports the public cloud strategy of the bank. This strategy is enabled by a truly cloud native public adoption tool, called Evolve which offers a unique way to onboard public cloud through a directive approach to cloud architecture. The platform covers directive, preventive and detective controls and achieves agility for the users of the platform.
This role requires experience in large-scale system environments, encompassing software requirements analysis, development, integration, and support. The candidate will be responsible for building highly scalable core infrastructures within our hosting facility and providing ongoing support. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with meticulous attention to detail, creativity in addressing complex challenges, and the ability to maintain focus for extended periods.
Responsibilities
- Design and build automated systems to streamline deployment, monitoring, and operations using infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools
- Develop and implement robust CI/CD pipelines, collaborating closely with development teams to enhance automation in testing and releases
- Leverage Google Cloud Platform (GCP) APIs and services to architect scalable, fault-tolerant automation solutions
- Research and evaluate new tools and technologies for automating security, infrastructure, and operations within the GCP environment
- Implement automated security monitoring, alerting, and remediation to proactively identify and mitigate risks and resolve issues
- Manage and resolve Operational issues with L2 and L3 team
- Create proofs of concept and prototypes to demonstrate the value of proposed automation solutions within GCP
- Collaborate with stakeholders and development teams to gather requirements and design appropriate automation to address complex business needs
- Promote and evangelize automation, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering best practices across the organization
- Stay abreast of the latest trends and practices in automation to introduce innovative solutions to the organization
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and AWS, including deploying and managing infrastructure and services
- GCP Professional Cloud Architect certification (or equivalent demonstrable expertise)
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and Ansible to automate provisioning, configuration management, and orchestration within GCP
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and deployment automation using Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar tools
- Strong Python or Java skills with experience building custom automation tooling and integrations leveraging GCP APIs
- Knowledge of containers and orchestrators like Kubernetes, as well as serverless architectures within GCP
- Understanding of infrastructure monitoring, log analysis, and automation for incident response within GCP
- Ability to instrument, validate, and automate security controls within GCP
- Knowledge of DevOps culture, Site Reliability Engineering, and agile methodologies
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and development teams
