Summary:

As Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer, you will be a key member of Ensign's executive leadership team, accountable for shaping and executing the Group's information security vision and strategy. You will drive enterprise-wide change and resilience, ensuring our security posture keeps pace with evolving business priorities and an increasingly complex cyber threat environment. This role requires both strategic foresight and hands-on leadership, with significant visibility at Board, senior leadership, and external stakeholder levels.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead the formulation and execution of Ensign's enterprise information security strategy, roadmap, and priorities, aligned to business growth and evolving risks.
  • Serve as the executive voice for cyber and information security, advising the CEO, Board, and senior leadership on emerging threats, regulatory obligations, and industry best practices.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and continual refinement of information security policies, standards, and frameworks in line with global best practices and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure strong governance of data protection, cyber resilience, and information risk management across all geographies where Ensign operates.

Operations & Resilience

  • Provide executive oversight of Ensign's security operations, incident response, and threat intelligence functions, ensuring effective monitoring, response, and recovery capabilities.
  • Leverage internal and external intelligence sources to strengthen Ensign's security posture and resilience against evolving adversary tactics.

Culture & Awareness

  • Champion a security-first culture across the organisation, driving awareness, education, and behavioural change through effective training and simulation programs.
  • Build collaborative relationships with senior business leaders to ensure security considerations are embedded into technology, business operations, and client engagements.

Leadership & Influence

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing information security team, fostering technical excellence and professional growth.
  • Represent Ensign in industry, government, and regulatory forums, building strong external relationships to shape cybersecurity discourse and standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent. Master's degree or MBA strongly preferred.
  • Recognised professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive cybersecurity and IT leadership experience, with at least 5 years in senior executive or regional/global CISO roles.
  • Proven track record in leading enterprise-wide security transformation, governance, and operations in complex, regulated environments.
  • Deep knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), data protection laws, and regional regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at CEO/Board level and engage across diverse business units.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
