Job Description

This position is one of the three Voucher Examiners in Financial Management Center (FMC) Singapore, performs full range of Voucher Examiner's duties, responsible for processing payment vouchers of annual average value of US$37 million for all agencies at post. Audits, examines and processes all types of vouchers, both routine and complex, ensuring that US Government laws and regulations are complied with, obligations are sufficient to fund vouchers. Voucher records management and responds to various data calls. The incumbent is also the section timekeeper and backup main timekeeper for the Embassy.

Requirements:

Work Experience and Education:

Option 1:

  • Minimum three (3) years experience in finance, accounts payable/receivable, disbursement, vouchering, and/or allowance required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of full-time study in management, business management, accounting or finance at college or university is required OR

Option 2:

  • Minimum five (5) years experience in finance, accounts payable/receivable, disbursement, vouchering, and/or allowance required.
  • Completion of secondary school education or high school education is required.

Language:

  • Good working knowledge (speaking/reading/writing) in English is required.

Knowledge:

  • Good knowledge of accounting principles and the Accounts Payable process.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Must possess strong attention to detail and be able to review complex documentation for accuracy and detect discrepancies to prevent duplicate payments.
  • Strong computational and analytical skills with excellent customer service.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office programs, especially Excel required.
