Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, Cold Room/Freezers -22degreesF/-6degrees C, No contact lens allowed prescriptive glasses will be provided, Office, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Warehouse

Job Summary

The Visual Inspector is responsible for performing manual semi-automatic and/or automated visual inspection of pharmaceutical products to ensure that released products meeting quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. The role involves identifying and rejecting units with visual defects in accordance with approved procedures, cGMP requirements, company and department SOPs, and safety regulations.

The incumbent will perform assigned tasks only after completing the required training and qualifications and must maintain strict compliance with GMP, Good Documentation Practice, aseptic practices, and all applicable safety and quality standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform manual and/or automated visual inspection of finished or in-process pharmaceutical products, such as vials, syringes, and bottles.

  • Inspect products for visual defects, including but not limited to:

    • Particulates or foreign matter

    • Cracks, chips, or leaks

    • Cosmetic defects

    • Fill volume abnormalities

    • Labeling issues

    • Container closure or integrity defects

  • Accurately record inspection results in batch records, logbooks, or electronic systems.

  • Ensure data integrity by completing all records legibly, contemporaneously, accurately, and in accordance with GDP requirements.

  • Support investigations by providing inspection data, observations, and relevant information when required.

  • Perform basic inspection equipment checks and line clearance prior to use.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of inspection areas.

  • Report equipment malfunctions, environmental issues, quality concerns, or abnormalities promptly to the Manager, Supervisor, or Lead Technician.

  • Package and transfer final products to the cold room as required.

  • Complete all relevant training before performing any assigned task.

  • Strictly follow aseptic techniques and practices during aseptic operations.

  • Carry out cleaning and upkeep of production equipment and classified manufacturing areas.

  • Complete relevant batch records and logbooks in a timely manner and in compliance with GDP requirements.

  • Transfer materials required for manufacturing batches.

  • Load and unload materials, equipment, or batches during production activities.

  • Perform stock checks of consumables and inform the Manager or Lead Technician of any required materials.

  • Follow safety and quality compliance requirements at all times.

  • Participate in EHS, business compliance, cGMP, and other compliance-related activities, where applicable.

  • Perform all tasks in accordance with approved standard operating procedures and maintain strict GMP compliance at all times.

  • Conduct in-process inspections and checks.

  • Load and unload vials at the tray loader station.

  • Perform facility cleaning duties as assigned.

  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the Manager.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum O Level, NITEC, ITE, or equivalent qualification.

  • Prior experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, visual inspection, or a GMP-regulated environment is an advantage.

  • Good visual acuity and color vision must be able to pass periodic eye tests.

  • Basic understanding of GMP and data integrity principles.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Willingness to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.

  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods.

  • Ability to perform repetitive visual tasks with sustained focus and attention to detail.

  • Willingness to work shifts, if required.

  • Good communication skills and ability to report issues promptly.

  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, compliance, and operational excellence.
