The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE), which is under the College of Engineering, aspires to be a leading school for Sustainable Urban Systems. Currently, it has over 50 faculty members and more than 1,500students, andis rapidly expanding its range of educational and research activities. TheSchooloffers the following three programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels: Civil Engineering, EnvironmentalEngineeringand maritime Studies. The faculty in theSchoolhas led major university-wide strategic research thrusts in space creation, waterresearchand sustainable built environment. Going forward, theSchoolseeksto strengthen its research and education capabilities in maritime studies, supportedby the MPA Professorship in Shipping Management, with emphasis on maritime economics and policy, shipping management, and maritime digitalisation and sustainability.
The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, invites outstanding faculty to apply for the position of Visiting Professor in Maritime Studies.
The successful appointee will advance CEE's research and teaching in maritime studies related areas, including maritime economics and policy, shipping management andlogistics, and maritime digitalisation and sustainability.
The successful appointee will be expected to:
The MPA Professorship in Shipping Management enables theSchoolto bring distinguished international scholars to NTU to strengthen its Maritime Studies programme.
Visiting Professor appointments are extended to distinguished professors or researchers with recognisedexpertiseand strong collaborative ties with theSchool.
Candidates are expected to
Possess a strongtrack recordin maritime economics,policyand management,demonstratedby impactful publications, high citation metrics, and international recognition.
Demonstrate leadership in major research programmes and foster cross-institutional and international collaborations, particularly in areas of strategic importance to theSchool.
Show evidence of excellence in postgraduate education through supervision, mentorship, and the development of advanced-level teaching modules.
Contribute meaningfully to theSchool'sacademic mission through joint research, student supervision, curriculum innovation, and international outreach.
