We're looking for a Shooter who can do more than just press record.
At Hatchery, a videographer is expected to:
Capture with intention
Think ahead of the edit
Deliver footage that is clean, usable, and purposeful
You are not here to just shoot -
you are here to solve problems on the ground.
Handle on-site video production (corporate shoots, events, social content)
Set up camera, audio, and basic lighting independently
Ensure proper framing, exposure, and audio clarity
Capture footage with editing in mind (coverage, angles, continuity)
Manage equipment responsibly (setup, teardown, checks)
Work closely with editor / director to ensure smooth post-production
Experience with mirrorless cameras (Canon preferred)
Solid understanding of:
Composition
Lighting basics
Audio capture (wireless mic, onboard backup)
Able to adapt quickly on-site (things will change)
Knows how to prioritize shots under time pressure
Physically comfortable with long shoot hours when required
Waiting for instructions for every shot
Missing key moments during live events
Poor handling of audio (this is a dealbreaker)
Fix in post mindset
You think like an editor while shooting
You anticipate moments instead of reacting
You communicate clearly with team & clients
You take ownership of your footage quality
You can grow into:
Lead Videographer
Director of Photography (DOP)
Hybrid Shooter-Editor / Project Lead
Based on experience (Full-time / Freelance options available)
Project-based incentives possible
Send us:
Portfolio (must include real shoot work, not just montage)
Gear familiarity (bonus if you have your own gears)
Availability
If you're someone who:
Needs constant direction
Just wants to cover and go
This role won't fit.
But if you:
Take pride in your footage
Want to level up your craft
Can move fast with a team
We'll work well together.
