Job Description

This role is advertised by Rock Productions Pte Ltd on behalf of our business entity, The Star Performing Arts Centre.

Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Video Manager (VM) to be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of diverse events. As the VM, you will be the link with our internal teams to maintain the high standards of execution that define XPS.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Leadership

  • Collaborate with Department Managers (Production Coordination, Audio, Lighting, Staging) to ensure design and technical delivery are perfectly aligned.
  • Direct the financial health of projects by working with Production Coordination to formulate equipment and manpower budgets, secure quotations, and monitor costs post-approval.

2. Operational Excellence

  • Facilitate discussions and verify all video requirements provided in the production brief to formulate a design that will meet the needs of the production.
  • Actively recruit, train and maintain a capable pool of casuals/vendors to facilitate productions and events.
  • Plan training programs for staff and casuals, instructing the best practices on our equipment and system operational methods.
  • Coordinate complex logistics by obtaining and managing required manpower for the production, plan and facilitate pre-show equipment checks and coordination with Operations Manager for physical logistics load-out and load-in.
  • Drive safety and compliance by supporting the Technical Manager in ensuring all on-ground teams follow health and safety procedures.
  • Manage post-show equipment checks, allocating time for proper maintenance with the help of internal staff, vendor partners, and casual crew members as needed.
  • Maintain, track and advise asset lifecycles by tracking usage, wear rates, repairs and upkeep, recommending new equipment purchases in collaboration with Technical Manager for industry-standard replacements or additions to elevate our production value to the Director.

3. Strategic Documentation

  • Maintain high documentation standards, producing required packing list of equipment for projects/events for Operation Manager coordination, crew lists and schedules, maintaining and ensuring asset inventory lists and SOPs are accurate at all times.
  • Support technical layouts by working with Department Managers to produce required system diagrams and drawings in Vectorworks or Autodesk AutoCAD as required.
  • Streamline administration by ensuring all internal payment documents are prepared for timely vendor settlement.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience: 2 to 5 years in technical production with deep knowledge of production video technologies.
  • Education: Minimally a Diploma in a technical production discipline.
  • Technical Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of programs (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook) and project management platforms like Monday.com. Proficiency in Vectorworks and Autodesk AutoCAD is highly regarded.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, a meticulous eye for detail, and the ability to lead multiple projects with minimal supervision.
  • Requirements: Must be comfortable working irregular hours and weekends. A Class 3 License is preferred, and a willingness to travel for overseas projects is required.
