Responsibilities
The position will be part of a production support team that works closely with the Journalists, Production Producers, Graphics Designers, Media Managers and all production stakeholders to craft news and feature stories for daily 24/7 news bulletins.
Job Description
- Provide all aspects of editing for News Bulletins including editing with creativity, soundtrack editing and audio mixing.
- Assemble rushes for the productions, familiarise with multiple editing systems and various workflows to achieve quality output and to meet the users requirements.
- Craft news stories together with the producer/reporters for News, Podcast and Features.
- Understand all jobs requirements and communicate the intended creative vision for production.
- Make changes to edited footages/stories and perform final audio-balancing for stories done by journalist/producers.
- Ensure audio & video output level are of broadcast standards for programme transmissions, with minimal supervision.
- Working primarily in the editing suites but occasionally, will be needed in the field for outdoor News broadcast.
- Able to carry out alternative procedures in the event of equipment unavailability or system compromised.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Film, Sound & Video or its equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year relevant experience
- Shift work required to accommodate the production requirements. Must be willing to work nights, on irregular shift including weekends and public holidays.
- Proficiency in the English language and at least one other language, Chinese, Tamil or Malay is an added advantage.
- Extremely comfortable and fast with Adobe Premiere Pro. Having Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition, Adobe Photoshop and Pro Tools skillset will be an advantage
- Able to focus and work in a highly pressured environment under quick turnarounds as news stories are running on a tight time domain.
- Comfortable with multi-digital platforms, understanding and keeping up with social media trends.
