About the Role
We are looking for a Video & AV Support Technician to provide dedicated onsite Audio Visual and video support within a professional corporate environment.
This role is ideal for a junior to intermediate AV technician who has a good foundation in Audio Visual technology together with practical knowledge of camera operation, video production, lighting, and live event support.
You do not need to be a senior AV engineer. We are looking for someone who is hands-on, technically capable, service-oriented, and keen to develop further experience in corporate AV and video production.
Key Responsibilities
Video & Camera Support
- Set up and operate cameras for corporate meetings, town halls, presentations, recordings, and live events.
- Configure basic camera settings including focus, exposure, white balance, frame rate, and resolution.
- Determine suitable camera positions, framing, and angles based on event and room requirements.
- Support single-camera and multi-camera event setups.
- Assist with video switching, monitoring, recording, and basic video signal troubleshooting.
- Monitor video quality and camera framing throughout live events.
Lighting Support
- Set up and adjust lighting for video recordings, presentations, interviews, and corporate events.
- Apply basic lighting techniques to achieve appropriate results for camera and video production.
- Adjust lighting positions and intensity according to the environment and event requirements.
- Identify and correct common lighting issues such as shadows, glare, and insufficient illumination.
Audio Visual Support
- Set up, operate, and support AV equipment including displays, projectors, microphones, speakers, cameras, video conferencing systems, and related equipment.
- Conduct pre-event AV system checks and rehearsals.
- Provide onsite technical support during meetings, presentations, town halls, and corporate events.
- Support video conferencing platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Webex.
- Troubleshoot basic audio, video, display, connectivity, and conferencing issues.
- Escalate more complex technical issues to the relevant support teams when required.
Event & Operational Support
- Work with internal teams and users to understand event and AV requirements.
- Prepare and test all required equipment before meetings and events.
- Monitor audio levels, video quality, camera framing, lighting, presentation content, and overall AV performance during events.
- Support event setup and teardown.
- Perform basic checks and preventive maintenance on AV and video equipment.
- Ensure AV rooms and equipment are maintained in good operational condition.
- Report equipment faults and follow up on technical issues where required.
- Maintain appropriate service and event support records.
Requirements
- NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Audio Visual Technology, Media Production, Video Production, Broadcast, Electronics, IT, or a related discipline.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in AV support, video production, event support, or a related technical role preferred.
- Candidates with less experience but good hands-on AV/video knowledge are welcome to apply.
- Basic understanding of professional Audio Visual systems and equipment.
- Practical knowledge of camera operation, camera settings, framing, and camera angles.
- Basic knowledge of lighting techniques for video production and live events.
- Familiarity with microphones, audio systems, displays, projectors, and video conferencing equipment.
- Able to perform basic troubleshooting and fault isolation.
- Comfortable working in a professional corporate environment.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Able to remain calm and responsive during live events and time-sensitive situations.
- Willing to learn and develop skills in new AV, video, and conferencing technologies.
