The APAC Wealth business plays a central role in delivering BlackRock's global investment capabilities to one of the most dynamic and fast-growing wealth markets in the world. The team is responsible for interpreting macro, industry and regulatory trends across Asia Pacific's diverse wealth ecosystems and translating these insights into commercial opportunities for our clients and the firm.
We work in partnership with regional wealth clients to provide access to the full breadth of BlackRock's offering. The team operates across key APAC hubs, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia and Japan, and partners closely with colleagues globally to ensure clients benefit from the full scale and expertise of the firm. By combining local market insight with global connectivity, the APAC Wealth business aims to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes for investors throughout the region.
Job Purpose/Background:
The Strategic Client Business Development team in APAC is responsible for developing and deepening relationships with the region's most important wealth partners, driving adoption of BlackRock's full platform. The team drives commercial results by working closely with clients to understand their needs, shape their product shelves, and position BlackRock as a trusted long-term partner.
The team is looking for a Vice President to lead and scale BlackRock's engagement with APAC Strategic Wealth clients. The role focuses primarily on strategic client coverage, commercial pipeline leadership, and enterprise level relationship management, ensuring BlackRock wins greater share of approvals and flows across mutual funds, ETFs, alternatives and customised solutions. This includes building and maintaining senior stakeholder relationships, shaping product approval pipelines, and ensuring best-in-class servicing across the due diligence lifecycle. The Vice President will partner closely with regional Client Business leadership and coordinate extensively with global product, investment, solutions, legal, compliance and specialist groups. In addition to commercial responsibilities, the role also oversees the due diligence lifecycle, ensuring clients receive transparent servicing through their product review, approval and ongoing monitoring processes. Manage relationship management, ensuring BlackRock wins greater share of approvals and flows across mutual funds, ETFs and alternative solutions.
This position requires a professional who can represent BlackRock holistically, speak confidently across the firm's investment platform and thought leadership, and who can operate effectively in a matrixed, global organisation to deliver consistent client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic client coverage and relationship management:
Lead coverage of APAC Strategic Wealth clients, building senior relationships and driving commercial opportunities.
Build strong, long-term partnerships with client organisations, working together to understand their priorities and align BlackRock's capabilities to support their business goals.
Work with regional Client Business teams to advance conversations, ensure timely follow ups and track commercial outcomes.
Product and solution opportunity development:
Work with APAC Strategic Wealth clients to understand their product priorities and codevelop opportunities, tailoring solutions to their use cases and supporting effective platform positioning.
Stay close to market trends, competitor developments, and broader wealth industry dynamics use insights to inform client conversations and pipeline strategy.
Maintain disciplined use of CRM system and provide visibility to internal leadership on pipeline status, risks and conversion expectations.
Global and cross-functional coordination:
Coordinate seamlessly across internal teams including sales, investment teams, product specialists, legal and compliance, ensuring aligned messaging and consistent execution across markets.
Act as an APAC connector into global teams, bringing global product updates to regional clients and escalating client needs to global stakeholders to drive solutions and approvals.
Demonstrate strong governance and control: ensure all regulatory, legal, and internal standards are met as part of client engagement and due diligence processes.
Due Diligence
Lead due diligence interactions with clients, coordinating inputs from investment, product, risk, and compliance teams to deliver accurate, timely and highquality responses.
Manage ongoing product monitoring requests and data submissions, ensuring clients receive transparent and consistent servicing throughout the due diligence lifecycle.
Experience/Qualifications:
8-10 years of relevant experience in asset management, especially within the wealth/retail segment.
Outstanding client relationship skills with proven history in building and growing a fund business.
Strong breadth of product knowledge across mutual funds, index, and alternatives, and the ability to communicate investment propositions in the context of portfolio construction and client objectives.
Proven track record of driving product approvals / pipeline progression and converting client engagement into commercial outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to operate in a global, matrixed organisation, coordinating across functions and geographies to deliver consistent client outcomes global client experience strongly preferred.
Strong stakeholder management skills, including credibility with senior internal partners and external decision-makers ability to represent the firm holistically and introduce the right specialists at the right time.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills proven ability to create high-quality client materials and deliver compelling, clear messaging under time pressure.
CFA and/or CAIA preferred.
