Job Description

VP of Engineering - AI Mental Health Platform

Our client is building the future of mental health detection through AI-powered digital phenotyping. Backed by Singapore's public health research ecosystem and rigorous clinical research, their platform uses passive sensing technology and machine learning to identify early mental health risks, enabling timely intervention and better outcomes.

They are looking for an exceptional VP of Engineering to own the technology vision and lead engineering execution as the platform scales. This is a rare 0 to 1 opportunity to architect transformative technology at the intersection of AI and digital health.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

- Technology Vision: Define and execute the full technology strategy and roadmap aligned to business and clinical objectives.

- Platform Architecture: Lead architectural decisions across mobile (iOS and Android), cloud backend, APIs, and microservices infrastructure.

- AI/ML Development: Lead development and deployment of machine learning models for mental health risk detection and digital phenotyping algorithms.

- Data Infrastructure: Architect systems for collecting, processing, and storing sensitive health data at scale - including real-time and batch pipelines.

- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure platform compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and PDPA. Lead technical aspects of regulatory submissions and audits.

- Team Building: Recruit, lead, and mentor a high-performing engineering team across full-stack, mobile, data, and ML disciplines.

- Clinical Collaboration: Translate clinical research requirements into technical implementations alongside world-class researchers and clinicians.

- Stakeholder Leadership: Partner with the CEO and board on strategic technology decisions and represent the company at industry forums.

WHO YOU ARE

- 10 or more years of software engineering experience with 5 or more years in senior technical leadership (CTO, VP Engineering, or equivalent).

- Proven track record of building and scaling technology platforms from early stage to production.

- Deep expertise in software architecture, distributed systems, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and mobile development (iOS and Android).

- Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks and data engineering.

- Experience building healthcare or digital health products with working knowledge of PDPA, GDPR, and clinical data compliance.

- Familiarity with digital phenotyping, passive sensing, or wearable device integration is a strong advantage.

- Exceptional leadership and communication skills - able to translate complex technical concepts for clinical, investor, and board audiences.

- Entrepreneurial mindset: thrives in ambiguity, builds from zero, and drives outcomes in resource-constrained environments.

- Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred.

THE PACKAGE

- Monthly Base Salary: $5,500

- Equity: $15,000/month

- Total Monthly Package: $20,000

- Visa sponsorship available for exceptional candidates
