Role Overview

We are seeking a strategic and analytical Vice President, Investments. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and executing fintech equity investment/exit opportunities that align with our funds mandate/objectives. You will leverage your expertise to drive investment/exit decisions and enhance our portfolio's performance. You will also have extensive contact with investors— limited partners of the fund.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement investment strategy including market research, deal/exit sourcing, financial modelling and analysis, due diligence, preparation of investment/exit proposals and term sheet, review of legal documents, portfolio management and optimisation, risk assessment and mitigation, etc.
  • Manage portfolio companies including support on fundraising, business performance and operational issues, structuring loans, attending board meetings, serving as alternate board member, introduction to potential investors/customers/partners, etc.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing investments, providing regular reports/presentations and recommendations to limited partners and management.
  • Build and maintain relationships with limited partners, business partners, stakeholders, and investment managers.
  • Maintain investor database and correspondence.
  • Assist in fundraising including presentation, set up of data room, review of legal documents, etc.
  • Organise meetings and fundraising trips.
  • Support GFTN Capital in other activities such as reporting, marketing, research, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree in Finance, MBA, or relevant professional certifications (e.g. CFA) will be an advantage.
  • Around 5 years of experience in investment or portfolio management in fintech, ideally in a licensed entity. Sound knowledge of fintech industry or experience in alternative investments, including private equity, or venture capital will be an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, investment vehicles, and portfolio management principles.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in financial modelling and valuation techniques, with a proven track record of successful investment outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead investment initiatives and influence key stakeholders will be an advantage.

Skillsets and Relevant Technologies

  • Investment strategy development and implementation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial modelling software, and investment analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with data analytics platforms and financial databases (e.g. Bloomberg, FactSet, Pitchbook, Tracxn, PREQIN, etc.).
  • Experience with portfolio management software and performance measurement tools.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Able to work well within the team and with external stakeholders.
  • Able to manage sophisticated investors in the fund.
