About EQT Private Capital Asia

EQT Private Capital Asia is one of the largest local Asian private capital platforms, representing the best of a local and global firm, and has been transforming companies through its pan-Asian investment platform for over 29 years. Following BPEA's combination with EQT,the Asian private equity teams joined forces and formed EQT Private Capital Asia, a pan-regional team with 350 local employees and 100 investment professionals based in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore, Mumbai, Tokyo, Seoul and Sydney.

EQT Private Capital Asia invests from two complementary fund strategies, both of which seek control and co-control equity investments from small to large-cap buyouts, with equity cheques ranging between US$50M to US$1BN. Over the past 29 years, EQT Private Capital Asia has distributed around US$39bn to clients since inception across 150+ investments and generated top quartile returns across its two most recent private equity funds, and today, the current portfolio employs more than 410,000 people.


With a sector-based approach and value creation centered around active ownership and transformation, the team is uniquely positioned to identify and source compelling investment opportunities across the entire region. EQT's local-with-locals presence, combined with the platform's global scale,resource and capabilities, creates a true-pan Asian footprint covering every major Asia investment destination, also enables cross-border investments incompanies operating across a number of Asian geographies or, alternatively, headquartered outside Asia but for which the region represents a meaningful driver of growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Deal Origination, Screening and Sector Analysis

. Supports Partners/ MDs/ Directors to develop ideas by independently building the required research and analytical foundation

. Participates in sector and geo collaboration leads the charge on execution for subsector mapping and new subsector development, with buy-in/ support from VP's manager

. Supports Partners / MDs/ Directors todevelop and maintain a strong network of bankers, Industrial Advisors and industry players within the relevant sectors

. Screen deals against EQT sustainability requirements and embed sustainable transformation thesis where relevant

. Ensure all relevant information is captured and updated in Motherbrain

2. Execution and Process Management

. Assumes primary responsibilities for day-to-day deal execution, dries due diligence efforts on the key risk and priority areas and develops mitigating plans

. Leads internal investment documentation audits and owns financial model, valuation and data analysis ensures all deliverables are clear, presentable and error-free

. Supports select negotiations (deal structure, term sheets, legal doc, financing, syndications, incentive plans) and deal strategy (alternatives, tactics, etc.) where applicable

. Assumes primary responsibilities for day-to-day execution of other due diligence workstreams (sustainability,digital) and ensures it is carried out in accordance with EQT requirements and embedded in value creation plan

. Ensure all relevant institutional knowledge and transaction experience is incorporated in deal execution

. Produces external company presentations to facilitate discussions with key stakeholders

3. Portfolio Management and Value Creation

. Supports deployment of the BMS

. Supports team across all value creation and tracking aspects e.g., conducting analyses, modeling returns, etc.

. Leads primary relationship with middlemanagement (CXOs-1), works closely with Ops teams to drive time to value

. Supports coordination of all PPR materialsand touchpoints

. Supports bolt-ons and financing workstreams (pertaining to portfolio M&A)

. Leads all aspects and coordination of Portfolio Monitoring reporting requirements

4. Exits,Liquidity and Investment Outcomes

. Support Partners/ MDs/ Directors to prepare exit situations (including buyer education and portfolio company exitreadiness) and run exit processes

. Monitors covenant compliance and liquidity situation with the CFO office

. Support portfolio companies in communicating their sustainability exit readiness by compiling relevant sustainability metrics / KPIs and driving engagement with relevant commercial advisors where applicable

. Supports coordination of all ELC materials and touchpoints

5. Strengthens Firm's Capabilities and Embodies Our Values

. Demonstrates clear alignment with our firm's values

. Provides more hands-on coaching and day-to-day guidance to the less senior team members

. Collaborates/ Supports colleagues and actively engages in broader firm capability / strategy development and continued enhancement (sector study, cross team/ business line support, support platform competencies such as sustainability, digital, MB, etc.)

. Reinforces our brand as the firm of choice with key external stakeholders in day-to-day interactions (advisors, service providers, management teams, etc.)

Ideal Experience

. Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in investment banking / management consulting and/or private equity

. Exposure in financial services sector in Asia would be a plus

. A relevant Master's degree (e.g. MBA) will be an advantage

. Strong analytical financial modeling and execution skills accumulated through multiple transactions

. Excellent research skills and able toperform quantitative accounting / financial statement analysis independently

. Strong writing and presentation skills to produce client-ready documentation and internal memorandum

. Outstanding verbal communications skills and ability to articulate ideas and findings comfortable with internal stakeholder and external (e.g. advisors and management teams) stakeholders

. Ability to multi-task and work on varied workstreams

. Highly detail-oriented, with a strong motivation to learn and improve

. Takes ownership of responsibilities and demonstrates a proactive, can-do attitude

. A collaborative team player who works well within diverse team dynamics
