Job Description

Job Purpose
To grow the Wealth Advisory business of the firm by acquiring clients within Greater China region and providing them with right advise and solutions, within the regulatory licensing framework under which Lighthouse Canton is required to operate.

Duties and responsibilities
The responsibilities of the VP/Director (Wealth Advisory) shall include the following:

  • To grow the Greater China business of the firm by acquiring new clients and generate revenue from the existing clients as per the targets agreed with Line Manager.

  • Have good knowledge of the Greater China markets to determine opportunities for the clients. Also keep abreast with the regulations affecting banking and customer interactions, to ensure that all transactions are within the legal boundaries.

  • Work with the clients to help them to meet their financial objectives. Proactively advise and consult with the clients, explaining the various financial services available. Educating them about investment options and potential risks when recommending investments.

  • Always be aware of the client's goals, income and spending to manage the portfolio. Actively monitor client accounts performance and provide advice on any interventions required due to changes in market situation.

  • Ensure that the firm's values, reputation and standing are always well protected when representing the firm in external forums.

  • Ensure that all activities are undertaken within the regulatory framework. Further, ensure that the company's policies and procedures are adhered to when performing their tasks.

Prior Work Experience

  • At least 10 years in the finance/ banking industry
  • Extensive experience in Greater China markets

Qualifications

  • University education. Preferably a masters or specialist degree in a finance or economics

Domain Skills

  • Strong knowledge of financial products across all asset classes.

  • Demonstrated interest in the financial, global and capital markets

  • Experience in understanding the financial needs of high net worth clients

Soft Skills

  • Excellent business development and marketing skills

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, manage time/multiple clients and work well under pressure

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and handle multiple responsibilities competently, with a high degree of accuracy, in a high-pressure environment.

  • Detail orientated, commitment to excellence and a high level of integrity

  • Strong communication skills as well as team player
