Job Description

As Vice President, Digital Platforms Delivery & Transformation, you will lead the shared delivery, operational excellence and transformation capability across Great Eastern's digital platform portfolio, enabling our customer and distribution platforms to scale with greater speed, resilience and consistency.

Working in collaboration with Digital Distribution Platforms, Digital Customer Platforms, Group IT and business stakeholders, you will drive enterprise product launch delivery, platform transformation and operational excellence, establishing the common execution disciplines, engineering practices and delivery governance that underpin Great Eastern's next generation of digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise product launch delivery across Digital Distribution Platforms and Digital Customer Platforms, governing the end-to-end execution of product launches from planning, dependency management and solution design through implementation, testing, release and production deployment.
  • Own platform operations and service management, ensuring high platform availability, operational resilience and business continuity through disciplined incident management, problem management, production support, observability, SLA governance and continuous service improvement.
  • Drive platform transformation and process re-engineering, leading platform modernisation, re-platforming, technical debt reduction and end-to-end process redesign to simplify delivery, improve engineering productivity, reduce operational complexity and strengthen long-term platform scalability.
  • Lead cross-platform programme execution for strategic initiatives spanning multiple business and technology domains, managing dependencies, risks, governance, executive reporting and stakeholder alignment to ensure successful enterprise delivery.
  • Establish common delivery governance and execution disciplines across Digital Platforms, defining delivery frameworks, quality assurance, release governance, portfolio management, execution standards and delivery practices to improve consistency, transparency and predictability.
  • Partner with Group IT to shape enterprise platform capabilities, co-driving engineering standards, architecture governance, DevSecOps maturity, environment readiness, technology convergence and strategic platform investments across the digital landscape.
  • Drive operational excellence through data and continuous improvement, embedding delivery metrics, automation, process optimisation and performance management to improve execution quality, operational efficiency and customer outcomes.
  • Build a high-performing delivery and transformation organisation, developing programme leadership, service management capability, strategic vendor partnerships and a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Thinks strategically about enterprise digital platforms and understands how disciplined delivery, operational excellence and platform transformation enable business growth, innovation and superior customer experiences.
  • Has a strong track record leading enterprise digital delivery, platform operations or large-scale transformation across multiple products, platforms or business domains.
  • Demonstrates sound commercial, operational and technology judgement, balancing delivery speed, platform resilience, engineering quality, governance and business outcomes within complex regulated environments.
  • Brings broad technology fluency across modern digital architecture, including APIs, cloud, microservices, DevSecOps, observability, platform engineering and enterprise delivery, with the ability to partner effectively with engineering teams.
  • Understands the complete digital delivery lifecycle, from programme mobilisation and governance through implementation, live operations, continuous optimisation and platform transformation.
  • Excels at leading cross-functional organisations and influencing senior stakeholders across business, technology, operations and external partners within complex matrix environments.
  • Has 12 to 18 years of relevant experience leading enterprise digital delivery, platform transformation, technology operations or large-scale digital change programmes, preferably within the insurance industry or broader financial services.
  • Holds a degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline. Experience leading enterprise platform modernisation, digital operating model transformation or complex technology delivery at scale will be advantageous.
