The Vice President, Contract Logistics, Asia is responsible for leading, growing and transforming the Contract Logistics business across Asia driving profitable revenue growth, operational excellence, customer retention, innovation, automation and strategic expansion. This leadership role will define and execute the regional Contract Logistics strategy across warehousing, fulfillment, distribution, ecommerce logistics, value added services, inventory management, omnichannel solutions and integrated supply chain offerings.

The incumbent will be instrumental in accelerating growth through organic customer acquisition, cross selling across freight forwarding and contract logistics, strategic customer partnerships, network expansion, warehouse automation and digitalization, mergers & acquisitions integration as well as operational transformation initiatives. He or she will partner closely with Regional and Global leadership teams to establish Asia as a major growth engine for the organization and contribute significantly to the company vision of becoming one of the top logistics providers.

Strategic Leadership & Business Growth

  • Develop and execute the Asia Contract Logistics growth strategy aligned with global corporate objectives.
  • Build a multi-year roadmap for revenue growth, profitability enhancement and market expansion.
  • Identify attractive industry verticals including technology, retail, ecommerce, healthcare, automotive, industrial, consumer Goods, semiconductor, aerospace etc.
  • Drive expansion into high growth Asian markets.
  • Develop strategic customer acquisition plans targeting multinational and regional customers.
  • Lead commercial governance for large regional and global opportunities.
  • Build a strong pipeline of strategic opportunities across Asia.

P&L Ownership

  • Hold full regional P&L responsibility for the Contract Logistics business across Asia.
  • Drive sustainable EBIT and EBITDA growth.
  • Ensure strong cost control and operational productivity.
  • Optimize warehouse profitability and asset utilization.
  • Monitor business performance through robust KPI governance.
  • Develop and execute annual operating plans and budgets.

Commercial Excellence

  • Lead strategic sales initiatives and major customer pursuits.
  • Sponsor regional tenders and large-scale contract negotiations.
  • Strengthen customer retention and account growth strategies.
  • Drive collaboration with freight forwarding, ocean freight, airfreight, land freight, customs brokerage, supply chain solutions etc.
  • Develop integrated end to end logistics offerings.
  • Enhance pricing discipline and solution profitability.

Contract Logistics Operations

  • Lead operational excellence across multi-user facilities, dedicated warehousing, ecommerce fulfillment centers, distribution centers, value added logistics services, inventory management, last mile partnerships etc.
  • Responsibilities include productivity optimization, capacity planning, inventory accuracy, customer service excellence, continuous improvement, lean operations and network optimization.

Automation, Technology & Innovation

  • Champion the modernization of the Contract Logistics network through warehouse automation, robotics, AI enabled forecasting, warehouse Management Systems, transportation Management Systems, digital control towers. data analytics and IoT enabled operations.
  • Lead evaluation and deployment of emerging technologies that improve customer experience and operational efficiency.

Solutions Design & Engineering

  • Establish best in class solutions engineering capabilities.
  • Lead design of innovative customer solutions.
  • Improve bid win ratios through differentiated value propositions.
  • Drive standardization of solution design methodologies.
  • Ensure commercial viability of proposed solutions.

Mergers & Acquisitions

Support the organization inorganic growth agenda by:

  • Identifying acquisition opportunities.
  • Participating in commercial and operational due diligence.
  • Assessing warehouse networks and operational capabilities.
  • Supporting valuation assumptions.
  • Leading integration of acquired Contract Logistics businesses.
  • Delivering post merger synergy targets.

Customer Experience & Strategic Account Management

  • Implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Standardize operating procedures across Asia.
  • Drive productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Improve labor efficiency and warehouse throughput.
  • Develop best-practice operating models.
  • Lead large-scale transformation programs.

Talent Leadership & Organization Development

  • Build a high performing Contract Logistics leadership team.
  • Develop succession plans for critical roles.
  • Strengthen leadership capabilities across the region.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, innovation and collaboration.
  • Improve employee engagement and retention.

ESG, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and operational requirements.
  • Strengthen safety culture across facilities.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives.
  • Reduce environmental footprint of logistics operations.
  • Ensure strong governance and risk management practices.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, Finance or related discipline.
  • MBA or Master Degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of logistics and supply chain experience.
  • Minimum 8 years in senior Contract Logistics leadership roles.
  • Proven Asia regional leadership experience.
  • Strong experience managing large scale warehousing operations.
  • Demonstrated P&L ownership.
  • Experience leading transformation initiatives.
  • Exposure to M&A and post-merger integration.
  • Strong commercial and customer-facing credentials.
