Job Description

WorldQuant develops and deploys systematic financial strategies across a broad range of asset classes and global markets. We seek to produce high-quality predictive signals (alphas) through our proprietary research platform to employ financial strategies focused on market inefficiencies. The Role: We are seeking an exceptionally talented Assistant Portfolio Manager tojoin our Quant Macro (Commodities) portfolio management team.

Job Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to the following)

  • Understand, improve, and maintain the portfolio construction process under the supervision of a portfolio manager
  • Work on macro ideas to translate fundamental datasets into tradable signals by portfolio managers
  • Develop research agenda aimed at the application of systematic signals that seek to predict the future price movement of financial instruments (i.e. Alphas)
  • Evaluate new data sources and statistical techniques for predictive power
  • Create project plans to achieve complex research initiatives
  • Create tools for sharing with PM group
  • Responsible for research work (Combos, trade module, private meta, alphas strategies and etc)

What You'll Bring:

  • Competent in a programming language (Python and Unix)
  • A technical degree from a top tier institution
  • Ability to precisely communicate complex principles and goals
  • Firm grasp of statistical modeling principles (e.g. linear regression, machine learning, hypothesis testing)
  • Excellent problem solving abilities and judgement with strong attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and thrive in a team oriented environment
