Vessel IT Specialist (Ship Owner)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for vessel applications and onboard IT systems across the fleet.
• Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade shipboard software and applications.
• Troubleshoot application, system, and connectivity issues, coordinating with internal teams and vendors where necessary.
• Support the deployment of new digital solutions and software enhancements onboard vessels.
• Monitor application performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
• Assist with user training and provide technical guidance to vessel personnel.
• Maintain system documentation, user guides, and support records.
• Ensure compliance with company IT policies, cybersecurity standards, and data protection requirements.
• Work closely with technical, fleet, and IT teams to improve operational efficiency through technology.
• Participate in testing, implementation, and rollout of new applications and system upgrades.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in IT support, application support, or vessel IT within the maritime industry.
• Experience supporting vessel applications, onboard networks, or fleet IT systems is highly preferred.
• Good understanding of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, networking fundamentals, and hardware troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with maritime communication systems, satellite connectivity, or shipboard IT infrastructure is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel onboard vessels when required.
