Role Overview
The Vendor Inspection Coordinator supports FPSO projects by planning, coordinating, and monitoring all vendor inspection and expediting activities to ensure materials and equipment comply with project specifications, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule vendor inspections in line with the Inspection & Test Plan (ITP).
- Act as the main interface between vendors, third-party inspectors, QA/QC, engineering, and procurement teams.
- Review vendor quality documents (ITPs, QPs, procedures, MDRs).
- Ensure inspections comply with project specifications, codes, and standards (API, ASME, ASTM, ISO).
- Track inspection status, inspection reports, NCRs, and close-out actions.
- Support expediting activities to ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials.
- Maintain inspection records, inspection release notes, and vendor documentation.
- Support FATs, witness testing, and certification reviews.
- Raise inspection alerts and escalate risks related to quality or schedule.
- Coordinate with site teams for shipment release and logistics readiness.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, or related).
- 5–10 years experience in vendor inspection / expediting for FPSO, offshore, or oil & gas projects.
- Strong knowledge of vendor inspection processes and quality documentation.
- Familiar with pressure vessels, piping, rotating equipment, structural steel, E&I packages (depending on discipline).
- Experience working with third-party inspection agencies.
- Good understanding of offshore project execution and procurement workflows.
- Strong coordination, documentation, and communication skills.
- Able to work under tight schedules and manage multiple vendors.
