We are looking to hire a VDI Automation Engineer to support our client in Singapore which is a top global investment bank.
Responsibilities:
Automation, Scripting & Operational Efficiency:
- Develop and maintain automation scripts (Python, PowerShell, Ansible) for App Volumes management (assignments, mounts, health checks), VDI operational tasks, user session telemetry extraction, and bulk administration tasks
- Build repeatable automation to reduce manual work and improve operational consistency
- Identify processes suitable for automation and propose innovative solutions
Reporting, Audit & Compliance:
- Create and maintain automated reporting pipelines for capacity monitoring, performance metrics, App Volumes utilization, deployment and assignment tracking, and vulnerability/compliance status
- Produce audit-ready reports for internal and external compliance reviews
- Automate log collection and data extraction to support investigations, incident analysis, and operational oversight
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, risk, and governance teams to ensure VDI/App Volumes compliance with enterprise standards
Virtual Desktop & Application Delivery:
- Manage, maintain, and optimize VMware Horizon VDI infrastructure at enterprise scale
- Support, administer, and troubleshoot VMware App Volumes, including AppStacks lifecycle management, Writable Volumes maintenance, application packaging/provisioning, and assignment/entitlement troubleshooting
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and security of VDI platforms
- Participate in golden image maintenance, OS optimization, and environment upgrades
Operational Support & ITIL Processes:
- Support Incident, Problem, and Change Management aligned with ITIL best practices
- Coordinate with cross-regional teams to drive issue resolution, root cause analysis, and preventive improvements
- Participate in endpoint security initiatives related to VDI and App Volumes environments
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Endpoint Engineering, VDI Operations, or Virtual Desktop platforms
- Strong practical experience with VMware Horizon VDI and VMware App Volumes (AppStacks, Writable Volumes, packaging)
- Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, or Ansible scripting, with the ability to automate complex workflows and generate advanced reports
- Solid knowledge of Windows 11, Active Directory, Windows Server, and enterprise virtualization concepts
- Experience handling audit requirements, compliance reporting, or documentation in regulated environments
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and vulnerability remediation workflows
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with MECM, Tanium, or similar endpoint management platforms
- Working knowledge of Splunk or similar log analytics tools for data extraction and dashboarding
- Experience with golden image engineering, profile optimization, and GPO tuning for VDI environments
- Exposure to CI/CD automation or infrastructure-as-code practices
