VAN DRIVER

A van driver is responsible for transportinggoods from a designated pick-up location to a drop-off location. The itemstransported are varied and can range from furniture and domestic appliances todocuments, parcels and food. Often, the goods are collected from a manufacturerand delivered to a retail outlet or to individuals for private deliveries.

. Collect goods from a manufacturer or warehouse

. Plan the delivery route in the most efficient way

. Load the vehicle in a way that ensures that the planned route matchesthe order of deliveries

. Contact recipients of the delivery while en route to ensure theirpresence

. Update the tracking system regularly so that customers know when theiritems will be delivered

. Record daily, weekly and monthly mileage as well as fuel usage

. Make deliveries, share any associated invoice with recipients and getcustomers signatures

. Update delivery records and return undelivered items
