The Valuations Analyst / Senior Analyst will be responsible for supporting the independent valuation process across a broad range of portfolio investments and financial products. The role will work closely with Portfolio Managers, Operations, and Quant teams to ensure accurate and timely valuation reporting aligned with regulatory and internal governance standards.
The successful candidate should possess strong technical valuation capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced hedge fund environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform independent valuation and price testing reviews across multiple asset classes, including:
- Equities
- Credit instruments
- OTC derivatives
- Structured products
- Illiquid and private investments
- Evaluate and validate pricing models, broker quotes, vendor pricing, and market inputs
- Develop and maintain valuation models for complex or hard-to-price securities
- Conduct daily, weekly, and month-end valuation analysis and exception reviews
- Partner with Portfolio Managers and Risk teams to assess valuation impacts and market movements
- Support valuation governance, controls, and audit documentation
- Assist with regulatory, financial reporting, and investor reporting requirements
- Monitor valuation policies and ensure compliance with accounting and fair value standards
- Participate in valuation committee preparation and reporting
- Identify opportunities to improve valuation processes, automation, and controls
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or related quantitative disciplines
- 3-7 years of relevant valuations or product control experience within:
- Hedge Funds
- Asset Management
- Investment Banking
- Strong understanding of valuation methodologies and fair value hierarchy concepts
- Proficiency in Excel and financial modelling knowledge of Python, VBA, SQL, or automation tools is advantageous
