Team Lead, Valuation
We're looking for a valuation actuary to join our client's team to lead the valuation of an assigned portfolio under the RBC2 framework while managing a small team of actuarial analysts.
This role is suited for someone who enjoys technical valuation work but is also ready to take on people management responsibilities. You'll be involved in business-as-usual reporting, support valuation initiatives, and work closely with Finance, Risk and other actuarial teams.
What you'll be doing
- Take ownership of the valuation and financial reporting for an assigned RBC2 portfolio.
- Review valuation results, investigate movements and explain key drivers to management and stakeholders.
- Deliver monthly, quarterly and annual valuation reporting accurately and within reporting timelines.
- Review reserving assumptions and experience investigations, and support assumption reviews where required.
- Ensure valuation models, controls and documentation are maintained to a high standard.
- Identify opportunities to improve and automate existing valuation processes.
- Work with Finance, Risk, Product and external auditors on valuation and reporting matters.
- Support regulatory reporting and assess the impact of changes to valuation requirements.
- Lead, coach and develop a small team, providing technical guidance and reviewing deliverables.
- Help prioritise work across the team and contribute to the continuous improvement of valuation processes.
What we're looking for
- Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or another quantitative discipline.
- Around 7-10 years actuarial experience in life insurance valuation.
- Good working knowledge of the Singapore RBC2 framework.
- Experience with actuarial modelling systems such as Prophet or similar is preferred.
- Progress towards actuarial qualification or qualified actuary.
- Previous experience reviewing work or mentoring junior actuaries would be an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to explain technical results clearly.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with different stakeholders across the business.
