Valuation Actuary, L&H Reserving | Reinsurer | Singapore

A top-tier global reinsurer is looking for an actuary with excellent track record in life actuarial valuation to join its APAC L&H Reserving team, based in Singapore. This is a regional role covering APAC which focuses on IFRS17, Solvency II, and any other key projects on the group level

This is a well-structured step up: real ownership of workstreams, direct engagement with external auditors, and exposure to cross-functional stakeholders in finance, risk, and the business.

The team is led by an experienced APAC Chief Reserving Actuary with a track record of developing the people in it.

What You'll Do

• Lead the quarterly production of L&H reserves under IFRS 17 and Solvency II, contributing to the landing process and providing analytical commentary on results movements, experience emergence, and drivers of financial performance.
• Act as a key liaison with external auditors across APAC markets on actuarial topics, coordinating responses and supporting local teams through the audit cycle.
• Partner closely with Finance, Risk, Capital Management, Pricing, and regional actuarial teams on valuation, capital, forecasting, and regulatory reporting initiatives.
• Manage end-to-end Singapore statutory reporting, including RBC2, stress testing, and ORSA, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of regulatory requirements.
• Drive process improvement initiatives across the APAC reserving function.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of life actuarial experience, with strong background in valuation/reserving.
• Solid working knowledge of at least one of: IFRS 17, Solvency II, or local statutory reporting in an APAC market. IFRS 17 experience will carry the most weight in shortlisting.
• Strong progression with actuarial examinations - Candidates still sitting exams are actively encouraged to apply.
• Proficiency in Prophet and Excel; Familiarity with data analytics tools such R, SQL, or Python is advantageous.
• Experience communicating complex actuarial findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
