Role Description This is a full-time, on-site User Interface Designer role based in Singapore. The User Interface Designer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate user and stakeholder needs into intuitive, visually compelling interfaces for web and mobile applications. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity UI designs, maintaining design systems, and ensuring consistency with NUS brand guidelines. The role involves working closely with User Experience (UX) specialists and front-end developers to refine interaction flows, support usability testing, and iterate on designs based on feedback and data. The designer will also contribute to design documentation, support accessibility and responsive design standards, and help champion user-centered design practices across projects.
Qualifications
- Strong User Interface Design and User Experience (UX) skills, with a user-centered approach to solving interaction and usability problems.
- Proficiency in Visual Design and Mockups, including creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity interface designs using modern design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
- Basic to intermediate Front-End Development understanding (e.g., HTML, CSS, responsive design) to effectively collaborate with engineering teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, Interaction Design, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design work, including complex interfaces and design rationale.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards, design systems, and best practices in responsive and mobile-first design.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work in a diverse, multidisciplinary environment.
- Experience in higher education, public sector, or large-scale digital platforms is an advantage.
