Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design of precision structures and assemblies for laser and optics systems
- Drive full-cycle development from concept, detailed design, prototyping to system integration
- Perform engineering analysis including structural, thermal, flow, and tolerance studies
- Define mechanical requirements and ensure design performance and accuracy
- Lead prototype build, testing, troubleshooting, and design validation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (optics, laser systems, research scientists)
- Work with suppliers to ensure precision engineering requirements are met
- Contribute to R&D innovation in advanced precision engineering technologies
Requirements
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) with 3+ years R&D experience
- Strong foundation in mechanical design, materials, and engineering principles
- Experience in precision mechanical design and complex problem-solving
- Proficiency in Creo or SolidWorks
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail
- Passion for advanced technology and innovation
- Strong team player with good communication skills
