Job Description:
Oracle Unix Support Engineer:
We are looking for an experienced Unix/Oracle Engineer with strong expertise in onpremise Fabric technologies, enterprise data platforms, cloud engineering (GCP), and banking domain solutions. The ideal candidate will have handson skills across Oracle, Unix scripting, automation, monitoring tools, and incident/problem management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and support enterprise data and analytics platforms on onprem Fabric technologies.
- Troubleshoot system, application, event, access, security, audit, and error logs.
- Manage GCP network architecture, IAM, load balancers, VPNs, and onprem connectivity.
- Develop and optimize SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, and database performance tuning.
- Execute database migration projects (DB2 Oracle, onprem GCP).
- Configure and troubleshoot DoubleTake Cloud replication environments.
- Automate operational tasks using strong Unix shell scripting expertise.
- Implement and manage Ansible for provisioning, patching, configuration, and monitoring.
- Build monitoring capabilities using ITRS Geneos (Gateways, Samplers).
- Manage incidents, problems, changes, and service requests across critical applications.
- Provide L2/L3 support for trading floor and back-office applications.
- Handle escalated incidents and contribute to highimpact incident resolutions.
- Create project documentation, steering committee presentations, and change management materials.
- Work closely with project managers on new service rollouts and production readiness.
Required Experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in the banking/financial domain.
- Master's in Computer Applications or Bachelor's in Engineering.
- 5+ years experience with onprem Fabric technologies & enterprise data platform design.
- 4+ years experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Strong hands-on knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Forms/Reports, and performance tuning.
- Realtime experience in DB migrations (DB2 Oracle, onprem GCP).
- Expertise in Unix scripting, automation, and troubleshooting.
- Strong experience with Ansible and ITRS Geneos.
- Familiarity with Jira or similar tools for backlog and ticket management.
