Job Summary

The Unit Head, Financial Institution Sales will lead and manage a team responsible for driving sales and relationship management with Financial Institutions (FIs) in Singapore and across the region. This role focuses on expanding RHB Bank's footprint and revenue from FIs by offering tailored banking solutions and fostering strong client relationships.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Financial Institution Sales professionals, setting clear performance objectives and providing ongoing coaching.
  • Formulate and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed business targets for the Financial Institutions segment, including revenue growth, new client acquisition, and product penetration.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities with FIs, including banks, non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs), and sovereign wealth funds, across various product offerings (e.g., treasury, trade finance, cash management, syndicated loans).
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and senior executives within client organizations.
  • Oversee the end-to-end sales process, from lead generation and client engagement to structuring deals, negotiating terms, and ensuring seamless execution.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including Product, Credit, Legal, Compliance, and Operations teams, to deliver comprehensive and compliant solutions to clients.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape within the Financial Institutions sector to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports, market insights, and strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Ensure adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., MAS regulations).

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10-12 years of progressive experience in Financial Institutions sales, relationship management, or corporate banking, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or team management role.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and growing a portfolio of Financial Institution clients and achieving sales targets.
  • Deep understanding of the financial services industry, banking products, and the specific needs of Financial Institutions.
  • Strong credit assessment skills and ability to structure complex financial solutions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements in Singapore and the broader APAC region.
  • Proactive, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
