The Underwriter, Global Programs is the local (APAC) contact point for overseas Liberty and Placement colleagues seeking to service Multinational (MNP) business. Under moderate supervision, the Underwriter, Global Programs is responsible for coordinating the placement and servicing of MNP policies and coordinating all pre-underwriting and underwriting authority sign-off activities with underwriting teams; responsible for ensuring correct processing; document generation; and premium collection is performed in conjunction with the relevant IBU teams. This role will service multiple time zones across AsiaPac and globally.
Responsibilities:
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with brokers, clients, local and overseas underwriting teams, and placement contacts to facilitate the placement of MNP business in Asia-Pac.
- Servicing of MNP inwards portfolio for APAC including but not limited to placement, document issuance, bookings, client management, and credit control.
- Assisting underwriting teams on Produced Outwards MNP programs. This includes, but is not limited to, information gathering and validation, prebind and post bind functionality.
- Ensuring that brokers and clients receive a high level of underwriting service that differentiates Liberty from its competitors. This extends to timely communication as well as processing and provision of key MNP documentation.
- Facilitating, identifying and establishing processes of key MNP documentation to underwriters, including in-country changes within Asia.
- Reviewing and negotiating policy terms and conditions and documents along with communications to underwriter referral points as required.
- Working with local and global MNP operations team to ensure accurate processing and recording of MNP business.
- Assisting in ensuring premium payments are received and discrepancies investigated in a timely manner.
- Oversight and tracking of MNP programs within the portfolio to reach the desired outcomes within the designated timeframes.
- Work closely with Risk & Governance, Compliance and Sanctions teams to ensure the placement of MNP portfolio is appropriately reviewed and actioned.
- Building the Liberty Brand and own profile within the market.
- Working closely with the departments of, Underwriting, Operations, Finance, Compliance, Legal, Claims and all other key internal stakeholders to promote Liberty's integrated business unit approach and ensure seamless delivery of underwriting services.
- Contributing to an effective team environment by interacting professionally with all team members and providing development, support and assistance as required.
- Updating and maintaining various logs and preparing reports as required.
- Assisting in audits as required.
- Ensuring compliance with all legal, statutory and corporate affairs requirements on a timely basis.
- Taking responsibility and showing initiative in the development of your technical and soft skills.
- Continuing to seek improvement of the product and of self by the continuous improvement of practices and processes.
- Performing other related duties as assigned by your manager or other appropriate officer.
- Responsible for maintaining and overseeing renewal listings and ensuring all processing and pre-renewal activity is completed according to SLAs.

Experience & Skills
- Relevant experience in the General (non-Life) Insurance industry.
- Relevant experience in an aligned role with a broker or insurance company.
- Excellent working knowledge of PC based systems and applications such as Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database systems for managing contacts, schedules and calendars is required.
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline would be desirable.
